Bass Lake

NW of Diamond Lake

Access:

N shore with parking and turn around limited

Area:

Water Clarity: 8.25 feet
Length of Shoreline: 1.1 miles
Structure: Algae and water moss are the least desirable submergent vegetation.  Emergent vegetation is rare.
Fish:

Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Black Crappie & Northern Pike

Big ukksearch Lake


Location:

4 miles NW of Lake Lillian

Access:

NE shore and SW shore

Area:

2692 acres

Depth:

15 feet

Water Clarity: 3.30 feet
Length of Shoreline: 10.4 miles
Structure: Little structure and few submerged beds of vegetation
Fish:

Walleye, Northern Pike & Channel Catfish.  Walleye fry are stocked every other year.

Crow River Reservoir


Location:

New London

Access:

State Highway 9 bridge, County Road 31 bridge and one-half mile N of New London

Area:

855 acres

Depth:

14 feet

Water Clarity: Moderate turbid
Structure: Moderate structure with abundant submerged vegetation, especially in protected bays
Fish:

Northern Pike, Walleye & Crappies.  Northern Pike are abundant and of average size.

Diamond Lake


Location:

4 miles NW of Atwater

Access:

W side by County Park #3 and on the SE side

Area:

1565 acres

Depth:

27 feet

Water Clarity: 8.10 feet
Length of Shoreline: 9.39 miles
Structure: Moderate structure with some bulrush stands on the east shore and north point
Fish:

Bluegill, Northern Pike, Walleye & Crappies.  Walleye fingerlings are stocked when natural reproduction is inadequate.  Walleye are abundant and nearly 3 lb. average size.  Quality Northerns are common.

Eagle Lake


Location:

5 miles NW of Willmar

Access:

SE Corner

Area:

824 acres

Depth:

67 feet

Water Clarity: 7.38 feet
Length of Shoreline: 4.9 miles
Structure: Moderate
Fish:

Bluegill, Northern Pike, Walleye & Yellow Perch.  Walleye fingerlings are stocked every other year and a Northern Pike spawning area is operated.

East Solomon Lake


Location:

3 miles NW of Willmar

Access:

NE side off County Road 5

Area:

706 acres

Depth:

14 feet

Water Clarity: 6.8 feet
Length of Shoreline: 9.5 miles
Structure: Aquatic vegetation stands (hardstem bulrush, pondweeds, etc.) are common
Fish:

Walleye, Northern Pike, Bullhead, Largemouth Bass & Bluegill.  Walleye fry or fingerlings are stocked every even year.

Elkhorn Lake


Location:

2 miles S of Spicer

Access:

E side near the inlet

Area:

86.5 acres

Depth:

41 feet

Water Clarity: 12.5 feet
Length of Shoreline: 1.25 miles
Structure: Submergent vegetation is moderately abundant within the shallow areas
Fish:

Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie & Northern Pike

Foot Lake

Willmar

Access:

NW basin along S side near the county fairgrounds; SE basin from Willmar lake via a boat channel on N side of Robbins Island; SE basin along SE shore in Robbins Island City Park

Water Clarity: 3 feet
Length of Shoreline: 9.8 miles
Structure: Limited structure with moderate submerged vegetation

Black Crappie, Bluegiill & Walleye

George Lake

N end located off County Road 32

Green Lake

SW side in Spicer and on the S, N, NE and NW shores

Water Clarity: 7 feet
Length of Shoreline: 12.3 miles
Structure: Abundant structure and limited vegetation
Fish:

Bluegill, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, Northern Pike & Yellow Perch.  Experimental regulations include:  all Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass 14-21" must be immediately returned to the water.  Only one over 21" allowed to be kept and all Northern Pike 24" and larger must be immediately returned to the water.

Henderson Lake


Location:

3 miles E of Spicer

Access:

NE side off County Road 9

Area:

73 acres

Depth:

57 feet

Water Clarity: 8.5 feet
Length of Shoreline: 1.4 miles
Structure: Submergent vegetation stands (coontail, water moss, bushy pondweed, flatstem pondweed) are moderate in density
Fish:

Bluegill, Black Crappie, Northern Pike, Sunfish, Yellow Perch & Largemouth Bass

Lake Andrew

N shore at Sibley State Park and on the S shore

Long Lake (South-Willmar)

NE shore off County Road 27 and S side

Structure: Moderate structure with submerged and emergent vegetation

Nest Lake

NE shore and W shore

Water Clarity: Moderate
Length of Shoreline: 5.5 miles
Structure: Some islands and structure, abundant submerged vegetation on N and E shores
Fish:

Bluegill, Walleye, Northern Pike, Black Crappies & Smallmouth Bass.  Walleye fingerlings are stocked every other year.

Norway Lake


Location:

8 miles W of New London

Access:

S shore of W Norway and the S shore of the main lake

Area:

2344 acres

Depth:

33 feet

Water Clarity: Moderate on main basin and turbid on west basin
Length of Shoreline: 17.6 miles
Structure: Main lake has moderate structure and points and bays.  West basin has little structure.
Fish:

Bluegill, Walleye, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass & Black Crappie.  Walleye fingerlings are stocked when natural reproduction is inadequate and a Northern Pike spawning area is operated.  Good size Northern Pike are available.

Point Lake

Between Long & Eagle Lakes

Access:

E end of lake off Highway 71

Area:

164 acres

Depth:

32 feet

Water Clarity: 12.2 feet
Length of Shoreline: 2.3 miles
Structure: Submergent (muskgrass, filamentous algae, sago pondweed) and emergent vegegation (hardstem bulrush, reed canary grass) stands are abundant to common

Bluegill, Yellow Perch and Bullhead

Ringo Lake


Location:

Highway 71 North

Access:

N side; shore fishing on NE shoare off Highway 71

Area:

716 acres

Depth:

10 feet

Water Clarity: Turbid
Length of Shoreline: 7 miles
Structure: Limited structures with abundant emergent vegetation, including bulrush
Fish:

Walleye, Northern Pike & Crappie.  Walleye fry are stocked every other year.  Good early season lake for 1-3 lb. Walleye.

Swenson Lake


Location:

W of CSAH No. 29 in Arctander Township

Access:

One mile E of County Road 1

Area:

109 acres

Depth:

14 feet

Water Clarity: 4.8 feet
Length of Shoreline: 1.8 miles
Structure: Aquatic vegetation (sago pondweed, coontail, hardstem bulrush) species and densities are limited within the lake
Fish:

The DNR manages the lake for Walleye, Northern Pike, Black Crappie & Bluegill

Wagonga Lake


Location:

2 miles E of Highway 71 S

Access:

SE side off County Road 3 and N side 2 miles E of Highway 71 and 1.5 miles S of County Road 88

Area:

1,664 acres

Depth:

15 feet

Water Clarity: 7.1 feet
Fish:

Walleye, Northern Pike & Bullhead

 

Willmar Lake


Location:

Willmar

Access:

S shore at Robbins Island Park

Area:

434.6 acres

Water Clarity: Turbid
Length of Shoreline: 7.6 miles
Structure: Moderate structure with fair emergent vegetation
Fish:

Walleye, Channel Catfish & Black Crappie.  Walleye fry are stocked every other year.  Good shore fishing.  Walleye in the 1-3 lb. range are abundant.
