The mission of the
ukksearch and City of Willmar Economic Development
Commission is to be a catalyst for the economic growth of
the greater ukksearch area.
Some of the short-term goals of the EDC include
- Demonstrating community support for local
firms
- Helping to solve immediate business concerns
- Establishing and implementing a strategic
plan for economic development
- Identifying specific businesses within the
targeted areas of health care, airport, value-added agriculture,
and e-commerce – including manufacturing specialties
associated with all four
- Incorporating the Willmar Area Multi-cultural
initiative into the business retention and expansion efforts
Some
of the long-term goals of the EDC are to:
- Build community capacity to sustain
growth and development
- Increase the competitiveness of local firms
- Actively recruit industries from within
the four targeted areas
